“RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS” TO BENEFIT FOREST PRESERVE
Join the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and volunteers of all ages during the eighth annual “Random Acts of Kindness” workday at Hidden Lake Forest Preserve in Glen Ellyn on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers will help remove litter and trim trails, improving Hidden Lake Forest Preserve for wildlife and visitors alike. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
Adults must accompany children under 14. Each participant must complete and sign a District waiver; parents and guardians must do so for volunteers under 18. To ensure there are ample supplies, groups of five or more need to make reservations by calling Volunteer Services at 630-933-7681.
Hidden Lake Forest Preserve is on Route 53, one-quarter mile south of Butterfield Road (Route 56).
The event is scheduled in recognition of World Kindness Week, an international celebration that encourages spontaneous, thoughtful gestures and the positive power of kindness. Every year, the Forest Preserve District holds a similar workday to encourage the practice of day-to-day kindness and deepen the connection between volunteers and the community.
With over 25,000 acres, 60 forest preserves and five education facilities, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has a volunteer program that’s right at your feet. For more information, call Volunteer Services at 630-933-7681, or visit www.dupageforest.com.
