Marmion Academy in Aurora will have its annual Veterans’ Day Observance Ceremony on Friday, November 7 at 3:10 p.m. in the Academy gymnasium at 1000 Butterfield Road. The Marmion JROTC Cadet Corps will honor all veterans and especially deceased alumni veterans of war during the after school formation and parade. The public is welcome to attend.

The ceremony will be honoring +CAPT Donald Leckrone, a 1978 graduate of Marmion, and member of the Illinois Air National Guard who died on July 31, 1992 in a pre-dawn crash of his F-16A fighter jet in route to Denmark for NATO exercises. His parents and his brother COL David Leckrone, a 1980 graduate of Marmion and also a member of the Illinois National Guard, will be the guests of honor at the ceremony.
