In an effort to increase communication and transparency with the community, the East Aurora Board of Education will host two Board of Education Open Houses to discuss the roles and responsibilities of members of the East Aurora Board of Education.

The Board of Education Open Houses will be held on Wednesday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m. at the School Service Center – 417 Fifth Street.

Candidates for the April Elections and all community members are invited to meet with two current members of the Board of Education, review the requirements of becoming a member, discuss the roles of Board Members and the protocol of the Board of Education, have a Q&A session, and tour the School Service Center.

The next election for the East Aurora Board of Education will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. The terms of four (4) current members of the Board of Education will expire.

Nominating Petitions for interested parties are available at the School Service Center on Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Nominating Petitions of School Board Candidates must be filed at the School Service Center no earlier than Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 7:30 a.m. and no later than Monday, January 26, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.

The Board of Education Open Houses are open to the public.
